What a soul! What a voice! What lyricism! North Carolina native, Anna Clendening ,singer, songwriter and guitarist who competed on season nine of America's Got Talent, is truly a vocal force to be reckoned with. Music is beautiful when it vividly tells a relatable story. Clendening does this flawlessly in her responsive record "To My Parents." We all have issues with our parents especially when we are young and rebellious but the older we grow the more we realize just how special parents are. Clendening puts her heart, soul and memories into this record.
1993 you gave birth to me sweet little baby girl had the world at my feet before I could even stand
Cradle me in your right and your left hand a precious bundle of unmade plans
hope and dreams of bigger things a bright future so it seemed
Oh but that light grew a little less bright as I grew up and we began to fight
/When I was 13 I was so damn mean running away had nothing more to say than I hate you
